It had a negative impact on the portability and aiming. Most of the future upgrades were focused on weight shaving. We invested a lot of money into Magpul gear – the company was a "rising star" then. We bought their products, we watched their training videos, with tips and tricks for brand new HK416 platform, malfunction clearing, etc. We ditched the OEM HK stocks due their bulk. The origi- nal butt pad of the stock was wide and its correct placement on the plater carrier was difficult. The wide cheek piece was conflicting with the Peltor ComTac headsets. And, of course, it was heavy. We bought Magpul BAD Levers which increased the speed of use. We loved to challenger ourselves: who will change the mag faster, who will clear the malfunction quicker or who will have better splits. We were really serious about that and dryfire training was an important part of the daily training. "Matka" changed his front grip for Magpul RVG, short and lightweight, hence called "stubby". The Wilson Combat Extended Charging Handle Latch was also added to clear the chamber quicker. When combined with BAD Lever it really decreased the time needed to cope with mal- functions. "Łasuch" added the Docter Optics MRDS on top of ACOG. The mount has integrated "wings" which will protect the sight against damages. The MRDS was doing magic for fixed zoom of ACOG and increased speed of aiming on pointblank dis- tances. The problem with such an extremely high mount of the sights is the offset, the distance between point of aiming and the barrel itself, but this wasn't a case when shoot- ing on short distances.
