indicator on the top of the slide. When the round is chambered, the rim of the case lifts the indicator slightly above the slide. It might be seen or felt with a tip of finger. The STR-9 has slightly wider slide guides in the frame. Field stripping is as same as in Glock as both guns are practically identical in- ternally. There are just minor differenc- es. We have decided to fully disassem- ble and compare STR-9 with Glock 19 Gen 3. The operations are the same ex- cept the different location of the trigger guard pin which is underneath the back strap in STR-9. Main differences might be noticed in the slide. The STR-9 has a totally different extractor than Glock, simpler and less complex as it has no spring and spring guidance rod. The barrels have similar profiles. The STR-9 barrel is slightly longer and has the guide for the loaded chamber indicator. Recoil springs are similar but the STR-9 one looks better and more durable. Firing pin assemblies are essentially the same, except the profiles of the firing pins (rounded in STR-9 and rectangular in Glock). STR-9 has an additional spring in the firing pin channel liner. Firing pin block in STR-9 is a bit shorter. Back plates are slightly different. Parts in the frame are essentially 1:1. The STR-9 has slightly wider slider and slide guides but keeps the overall shape of Glock. Trigger and trigger bar are almost identical, except of trigger shoe in STR-9 which has… Slide release: STR-9 has a bigger one. The difference is in the area of the magazine follower notch. Connector: at first glimpse look same but it came out later that there is slight difference Slide lock: the only difference are slight details and more curved spring Stoeger STR-9 was unveiled in 2019 but due the COVID pandemic ev- erything was delayed and finally STR-9 became available commercially some- where in 2020. The STR-9 may look different than Glock 19 but internally it is essentially the same as Austrian handgun in their Gen 3 version. It is another gun "built around" the Glock 17/19 Gen 3 blue- prints as the original patents expired and now you see a market flooded with Glock-esque pistols. Everyone can have a Glock of their own now. The Stoeger STR-9 is a 9 mm x 19 NATO striker-fired short recoil-operated locked-breech semi-automatic pistol with a polymer frame almost identical to Glock one. Size wise STR-9 and G19 are very similar but the Turkish gun has a to- tally different frame which is textured for improved grip. The stainless-steel slide has factory serrated front and rear for improved grip during reloads. The three-dot iron sights are steel and real- ly durable, interchangeable back straps come as a standard too. In Glock Gen 3 all these improvements were non-stan- dard and you had to pay for them. STR- 9 looks more like a child of Beretta APX and Smith & Wesson M&P 2.0. The distinctive difference between STR-9 and Glock is the loaded chamber Stoeger Stoeger Stoeger Glock Glock Glock Glock FIREARMS
