Ops-Core FAST SF The idea behind the Ops-Core FAST SF was essentially same as in the previous designs – to keep best possible ratio between ballis- tic protection surface, weight and compatibility with all headborne equipment and accessories such as communication headsets and ear pro, night vision goggles, thermals, flashlights, IFF strobes (like Core Survival Hel-Star) and cameras such as MOHOC. The full compatibil- ity with body armor was also required. The outcome was the high-cut helmet shell with undercut in the rear for better compatibility with the packs and better reduction of bulk. The latest SF helmets were also a direct response to the requirements of US special forces which started the Next Generation Helmet pro- gram in 2015 with the goal to replace the Ops-Core FAST MT (Super High-Cut version also known as Maritime) which were developed and introduced around 2012. The main difference between standard FAST XP/ST and MT was 16 mm higher under-cut in the ear area for use with multiple types of headsets. 16 mm higher under-cut in the ear area for use with multiple types of headsets.
