Several surprises were also planned, during
the NATO Days. On Sunday, Czech and IDF
paratroopers performed a drop out of CASA
C-295M, with the airdrop involving Czech
instructors of the airborne units and IDF
troops. Another surprise came in the form of
the Austrian Eurofighter and Slovak MiG-29
dynamic displays. Both aircraft initially were
to do just a flypast. However, they both per-
formed a short display. The bad weather con-
ditions resulted in a lot of condensation and
vapor on the airframes.
Summing it up - the European Air Show
scene is on its way back to normal. We do
hope that the next season will be closer to
what we consider a status quo. Noteworthy,
the Central European airshows are becoming
increasingly more attractive. We have our fin-
gers crossed for those events to be able to
compete with the best air shows in Europe,
such as RIAT or Le Bourget. Even though
NATO Days is portrayed as a defense and
security show, undoubtedly the air show is
a major magnet that attracts numerous vis-
itors.
