Milrem Robotics Milrem Robotics Type-X Type-X have, along with an RCWS system on the roof. The vehicles are also fitted with an engagement detection sys- tem, and the so-called transparent armor - a fully covered back door with external cameras and a display inside the vehicle, where the windo- wpane would be. This solution en- hances the ballistic protection levels simultaneously having no limiting impact on the situational awareness of the crew. MILREM Estonian Milrem Robotics company, together with Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace presented an unmanned land platform named Nordic Robotic Wingman, it is a Type X platform fu- sed with the Protector RCWS. Type X has been designed as an unmanned, lighter counterpart of an APC platform. The system is to be relatively light and compact (12 tonnes, 6x2.9x2.2 meters [LxWxH] dimensions). It is tailored for being airlifted - it can be accommodated within cargo spaces of aircraft such as the C-130J Super Hercules or KC-390 (one example), A400M (two examples), or C-17 Globemaster III (up to five examples). Type X is to be 3-4 times cheaper to manufacture and operate, as opposed to a conven- tional, manned counterpart. The vehicle is to act as an unmanned wingman of the manned assets, thus cooperation between the platforms may be established, and the man- ned vehicles may be replaced where the use of a manned platform is too dangerous, for instance when mines are removed within the given area. MILREM showcased its Type X vehic- le with a self-protection roller provi- ded by Pearson Engineering during the DSEI event. EXHIBITION
