Lotos says Who doesn't have a hoodie – such a person doesn't exist, does it? That's why Carinthia decided not to reinvent the wheel and cre- ated a modern version of the hoodie. No super-duper features etc., just a simple hoodie. I wasn't surprised when I unpacked it, because Carinthia's products are known for their great quality and now they have an awesome hoodie. These awesome features are the combination of durable „techno-stretch", elastic sleeves, tightly fitting hood and these mag- nets on the bottom edge (where slits are located). Hoodie is quite fitted, maybe not skinny-fit, but slim can be used to describe it. Big pocket on the front is great, I use it mostly for keys and to carry something „quickly". Inside there are small mesh compartments for phones or other small stuff, but I do not like them, I am just saying - they do their job. Phone inside sits tight and doesn't fall out. Belly pocket can be closed with magnets as well. I like it and I use it quite often, but it is funny when these little mag- nets are being attracted to car's doors or metal handles of shopping carts etc. On the range I feel comfortable wearing it, as these slits help access the first line, but still, these magnets… Functionality is what makes me like that hoodie - long zipper improve airflow and provide access to the layers under it. Same with the zip- pers on the sides. That comfort of loosening the sweatshirt when you have an „overloaded" belly or tightening to improve thermal com- fort is irreplaceable. A few times I experienced nice weather and by `nice` I mean rain and wind, and I have to say honestly that this hoodie did its work. It was rather comfortable, but this hoodie is not meant for such conditions. The hood was a life saver and after a year of using it only one seam came off near the cuff, no other damages at all. I like the design and quality of Carinthia, so my opinion cannot be objective and I do not know if this hoodie is worth 245EUR, but it is just my point of view, as neither do I know if Mercedes G is worth over 250k eur. Until now, there haven't been any jackets or sweat- shirts with a hood in the minimalistic Ultra series - the lightest and most minimalistic clothing line by Carinthia. For me, something that is supposed to keep us warm has to have a hood – it increases the versatility of that item and for sure, prevents heat from escaping through the head. Even if you do not use it, it always warms your neck. In my opinion, Ultra Hoodie is awesome clothing – fit cut, warm enough to wear by itself, highly compressible and ultra light as well. You won't feel it's weight in the backpack and if needed, you can always put it on quickly. If someone likes thick hoodies, Ultra Hoodie is the contemporary version of this type of heavy cotton hoodie - but more modern, lighter and warming even when wet. "Rabbit" will most likely kill me, but I see no reason to elaborate more on the advantages of Ultra Hoodie and write essays – I just simply recommend it to anyone who needs light and warm layers on the trail, in the city or on the range. 74 www.fragoutmag.com
