The classic Mossberg M590A1 pump-action shotgun with 508 mm long barrel and 1041 mm overall length has 510 mm long tube magazine under barrel which can fit eight 12/76 shells. You want to have more shells in the gun? The maga- zine must be longer – add two rounds more and the magazine would be longer than the barrel and the total length of the shotgun will be enormous. Have you ever seen match-grade pump-action shotguns with 12 shell magazines? They are like 1.5 meter long. For competition shooting such a long shotgun wouldn't be a problem but for duty use it will be absolutely senseless. Are there any other ways (except the huge boxy detachable magazines) to expand the number of shells? Well, engineers at IWI of Israel faced that problem and developed a solution. 15 shells in an 18.5" barreled shotgun with 720 mm overall length? Nothing is impossible. Meet the Tavor TS12. The Space Shotgun. Think about is a bastard child of the legendary H&K G11 and Tavor X95 bullpup ri- fle. Tavor TS-12 First time I saw this bullpup shotgun was 2-3 years ago during one of the defense exhibitions where it was presented among the Carmel rifles and Masada pistols. TS12 was something you couldn't miss this unique (or grotesque) shotgun with its "love it or hate it" design. The Tavor TS12 is a semi-automatic bull-pup shotgun which allows the gun to come in a relative- ly compact package without sacrificing the length of the barrel. But how did they design the 15-round magazine without making it extremely bulky? TS12 has a non-detachable rotating magazine with three separate magazine tubes, with up to 5 shells capaci- ty each. After five shots, the tube must be rotated 1/3 clockwise (or counterclockwise) while releasing the lever lock. Rotate, shoot, repeat. Simple as it is. IWI TS12 is a semi-automatic gas operated shot- gun with short stroke piston. The adjustable gas cyl- inder has two settings. It is a hammer-fired weapon with an internal hammer. The bolt tilts to the side. The design of the Tavor TS12 shotgun is pretty unique, and it makes it problematic to call its part www.fragoutmag.com
