SUMMARY
Summing up the Miecznik program, one should also remember
the financing. The Polish MoD declares it is willing to allocate
PLN 8 bn. to procure three vessels. At present, all of the parties
involved, both the industry, as well as the future user, claim that
the acquisition of vessels that would meet the preferred speci-
fication defined by the Navy would cost more than PLN 10 bn.
Up until recently, this estimation would probably mean that cuts
commissioning. All of the vessels have been launched now, and
are either undergoing sea trials, or the equipment is being fitted
onto them. Similarly, as in the case of the tkMS's offer, the limi-
ted political support Navantia enjoys is the weakness. This is very
much different from the effort that has been made for years by
the UK.
