that. As tensions around Ukraine were growing - which finally
resulted in a full-scale invasion - the MoD decided to increase
its budget in the upcoming years. For instance, it is planned
that 2.3% of GDP spending level planned for 2023, is to be
increased to 3%. The higher defense expenditure also me-
ans that there is a chance that the Polish Navy and the Miecznik
Program would both receive extra funds, making it possible to
procure vessels meeting the Navy's requirements and making
it possible for the service to use the new capabilities to effectively
carry out its duty.
