FN15 Military Collector M16 The FN15 Military Collector M16 is a ci- vilian legal clone of USGI M16A4 rifle made accordingly to US Government military technical specifications (per FN, I will ex- plain that later). This semi-automatic rifle is chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO and fea- tures a 20-inch, 1:7″ RH, button-broached, and chrome-lined barrel with thick gov- ernment profile and A2 muzzle device on its business end. The gas system is in standard rifle-length. The rifle features also a fixed pol- ymer stock with the cleaning kit compartment and Knight's Arma- ment Cor- p o r a - tion M5 RAS full-length quad-rail handguard with MIL-STD-1913 accessory rails. RAS comes with polymer covers. It has A2-sty- la front sight base with bayonet lug for M7, M9 or USMC OKC3S bayonet. Forged 7075-T6 aluminum alloy lower and upper receivers are hard-anodized to matte black. Upper receiver is a flat-top type with Picatinny rail for optics or carry handle. The lower receiver is commercial one, with thick walls around the trigger group, so it is only compatible with semi-automatic trig- gers. The bolt is made from 158 Carpenter steel. Bolt carrier group is nitrided. As in USGI M16A4, the charging han- dle is not ambidextrous, pistol grip has middle finger notch and trigger guard can be opened downward for shooting with winter gloves. The ambidextrous (so again out of specs) safety switch has two working positions only (SAFE and SEMI) but there are three markings engraved on the lower receiver (SAFE/SEMI/AUTO). Of course, you can't use the third. BTW, the USGI M16A4 would feature SAFE/SEMI/ BURST settings only as that was the USMC rifle – AUTO was only in M16A3's for US Navy contract. Trigger is single stage with 6 lbs trigger pull. On the port side of the low- er receiver there is UID sticker – as in the military rifle. Sights FN M16A4 FIREARMS
