• Ambidextrous controls: The rifle is "partially" ambidextrous, featuring a double-sided safety selector switch and an ambidextrous charging handle. The magazine release and bolt catch re- main single-sided, like the M16/M4. • Fit & Finish: The fit between the upper and lower receivers is very tight. There is minimal play—well within the low end of acceptable AR-15 toleran- ces. The lower receiver is a standard civilian type, featuring the restriction near the safety to prevent the installation of a full-auto sear. • Bolt Carrier Group (BCG): The BCG is well-ma- chined. The gas key and bolt are chromed for easier cleaning. The carrier itself is finished in black oxide. The bolt is very precisely finished, with no machining marks visible, and the locking lugs are even. • Grip and stock: The rifle is equipped with an er - gonomic, rubberized grip of a unique design. The trigger guard is the simple, hinged military-style type, allowing it to be swung down for use with winter gloves. • Stock: The stock is installed on a standard buf- fer tube. It features a distinctive hook-like design where the buttpad connects only at the top. It wi- dens slightly at the rear, suggesting a nod to SOP- MOD stocks, though less chunky overall. The buttpad is thick rubber, providing stable shoulder purchase and two points for QD sling attachment. Overall, it's a well-made, mid-to-lower-priced AR with nice features. Shooting Performance The 14.5" barrel is ideal for universal use—not too long for dynamic shooting, but still effective at medium range. In dynamic shooting (up to 25–30m distance), the rifle performs well, like most AR platforms. The 14.5" carbine-length gas system, combined with the A2 flash hider, makes the recoil manageable, assuming the shooter is proficient with the AR platform. The .223 round simply doesn't genera - te excessive force. Shooting tight double-taps is easy. • Customization: While you could add a muzzle brake or a hydraulic buffer (around $250), it's worth considering if that makes sense. This is not a dedicated competition rifle, but a „tactical" shooter. For that role, it works perfectly straight out of the box with just a sight added. • Grip: The grip might be polarizing. The rubber texture offers excellent, non-slip purchase, but the shape—full at the base but dramatically nar - rowed at the top—might not suit everyone (inclu- ding me). Swapping the grip is trivial. I highly re- commend the GROT A2 grip as a replacement. • Stock: Functionally excellent. Comfortable, stable, easy to adjust through its six positions, www.fragoutmag.com
