LAYERING SYSTEM
T
he concept of the 5.0 Series is clearly
structured: Depending on operational
temperature and activity level, the user
selects the appropriate insulation level. Each
model functions independently but can also be
combined as part of a coordinated layering sys-
tem – depending on the operational prole and
weather conditions.
The lightweight LIG 5.0 (540 grams) is designed
for highly active operations in cool to slightly
cold environments down to minus ve degrees.
It is particularly suitable for changing weather
conditions or as a mid-layer under a hardshell.
At the other end of the spectrum is the ECIG 5.0,
which with 1,800 grams total weight and mas-
sive G-LOFT insulation is designed for static
operations in arctic conditions below minus 30
degrees.
For operations between highly mobile move-
ment and longer static phases, the MIG 5.0 and
HIG 5.0 are designed. The MIG 5.0 features the
so-called Side Access System: full-length zip-
pers from hem to underarm enable direct ac-
cess to holsters, magazines, or belt-mounted
equipment without having to open the jacket
frontally. This provides functional added value
especially during vehicle operations, observa-
tion posts, and extended sitting phases.
