The grip itself has taken on a more „barrel- like" shape and has stopped being the equivalent of a squared-off stool leg. If you look at the weapon from the rear, you will notice a distinct outward swelling of the grip, which fills the palm better and provides the shooter with superior control. Additionally, a factory, ambidextrous „gas pedal" / „thumb rest" has been introduced for the support hand thumb. It takes the form of a textured indentation on the frame, providing an additional pressure point without increasing the weapon's overall footprint. It is a small detail that drastically changes weapon control and is another element typically performed during custom stippling. • RTF6: The grip is covered in a new texture called RTF6, representing a compromise between the aggressive RTF2 (small, sharp points that bite into hands and snag clothing) and the RTF4 pattern known from Gen 4 and Gen 5. • RTF6 is intended to guarantee maximum purchase even with wet, dirty, or bloody hands, while minimizing the risk of clothing damage or skin abrasions. • The grip texture is identical across the entire surface and extends significantly higher than in previous generations, reaching almost to the slide stop shroud. • Compared to previous generations, this shroud has a much more pronounced shape, better protecting the slide stop from accidental engagement during a high grip. • Despite the frame modifications, Gen 6 pistols maintain full compatibility with holsters dedicated to Gen 5 models. www.fragoutmag.com
