The Troy BattleMag magazines
deserve praise. They feature great
texture for indexing and a high-visi-
bility follower. They are a significant
step up from the first generation.
When shooting, I was seriously sur-
prised. The trigger pull was very
smooth with a "crispy" break and
a short, distinct reset. It's an ideal
trigger for a beginner—better than
MIL-SPEC but without the risks of
a "hair-trigger" match unit. It is more
than enough for tactical, combat, or
casual 3-gun shooting. The second
surprise was the impulse: recoil is
minimal, and muzzle flip is virtual-
ly non-existent. It appears the two-
-piece buffer actually works. During
rapid fire and double taps, the rifle
stayed "glued" to the target.
Even at 50 meters, rapid shots were
easy because the rifle barely moves
off-target, even when supported by
only a single finger under the hand-
guard.
