SUSPeNSiON SySTeM A suspension system of the Arc'teryx LEAF Khard 60, called Arc'teryx C² (Composite Construction), was based on the 8 mm thick rigid frame sheet from the ergonomically shaped laminate, which serves as a back plate, protecting from sticking into the body objects with sharp edges, and two 22 mm wide anodized a l u m i n i u m stayds. A panel which has a direct contact with a user's back is covered with the Burly Double Weave soft shell fabric with a Durable Wear Repellent finish. The flat and rather narrow (from about 70 to 45 mm, depending of the point of measurement) shoulder straps with an adjustable length were designed not to interfere with the ballistic vests. Their shape is similar to the flattened S letter, and from the body side are lined with the Spacermesh mesh and padded with thin layer of foam. In the lower parts of the shoulder straps, at the point of the length adjustment, there is a system of quick release to use when in the emergency situation based on the ITW Nexus GhillieTEX™ Dual Quick Release Buckles which can be disconnected in two ways – a classic one by pressing the sides or using a toggle. The manly part of the buckle is fitted with a plastic toggle on the short piece of cord which enables separating buckles by one strong pull, fastening internal buckle trims and causing their ejection. On each of the shoulder straps there is a part of rolled piece of the Velcro® One-Wrap® intended to route a tube of the hydration system or optionally to assembly a small source of light or other accessories. The shoulder straps are complimented by a narrow sternum strap, which length and a height of placement can be adjusted. A simple waist belt is made of the 2" inch wide MIL-W-17337 nylon webbing fastened with the ITW Nexus www.fragoutmag.com
