Regarding gear, we use what you would normally see on the Unit guys which obviously includes a number of top brands. Crye Precision, Paraclete and Eagle Industires are heavily featured as are others, including for example AWS Inc., Tyr Tactical and First Spear. Clothing is generally Crye Precision and Arc'teryx LEAF while boots are generally Salomon variants (we have tried a lot of different brands but Salomon really does it for most of us). For us, quality and function are paramount and we individually put a lot of effort into setting up our kits to work optimally. We always look for improvement which means that generally, if something is ever found to impede movement or weapon handling even slightly it is replaced or otherwise improved. Seeing as everyone is really interested in gear we tend to keep up to date with the latest and greatest in order to keep an eye on potential gear improvements. That said, if something works - it works. Just because something is new does not automatically mean it is better and we have a few interesting custom solutions featuring older gear. A general philosophy is as light and low profile as possible without compromising optimal function; that goes for weapons as well. Speaking about weapons, we naturally use airsoft weapons when training tactics. That said, we do not make any particular difference in handling or tactics to live firearms though some tactics are adjusted to suit the conditions. Even though we do not have any recoil to manage, proper handling significantly improves performance and efficiency. Seeing that we engage in force-on-force trainings and not just target practice, this makes a huge difference. Our weapons systems are set up accordingly, with the best handling and weight distribution in mind. The distance at which we engage targets is usually comparatively short as well, which further accentuates the need for situational awareness, agility and skill. REENACTING
