Manufactured in 2005 on the request of the Boeing corporation, during the first years it served to transport the members of it's ma- nagement board. When exchanged for a bigger model (Challenger 605) it was rebu- ilt and adjusted to the role of the MSA de- monstrator. Among modifications, following should be mentioned: radar station assem- bly under the fuselage with the AESA radar, additional radars for the communication systems or the electronic reconnaissance systems. Inside the fuselage space was managed for three kits of the operator pa- nels. Some parts of VIP business compart- ment was left. Certainly, a current shape is not the final– according to the declarations of the Boeing representatives, the mission required equipment itself (developed for the larger P-8 Poseidon) may be installed in the aircraft of any type, end-user can also use others (optional) accessories, which cause that the MSA may become a true mini-Po- seidon, which can besides the patrol and reconnaissance tasks can fulfil a role of the submarine hunter or cooperate with the UAVs. On 7th august 2014 the Polish Armed Forces Armaments Inspectorate announ- ced beginning of analytical and conception phase in order to procure aircraft capable to provide full reconnaissance from the air and ASW role. Information provided by potential suppliers are currently evaluated. Probably (not confirmed information) three aircraft will be procured and the tender procedures will be start in 2016.
