The honourable first place in creating the multi-level uniform system intended for the wide range of the weather conditions should belong to the US special operations forces. The works on the basis of the experiences of the alpinists, hikers and enthusiasts such as Mark Twilight, in 2003 leaded to the introduction of the seven-layer clothing system named Special Operations Forces Protective Combat Uniform (in short, SOF PCU or PCU), which enabled user to configure the clothes to the weather and terrain conditions: • level 1 – next-to-skin baselayer; • level 2 – cold weather baselayer; • level 3 – thermal layer; • level 4 – wind shirt; • level 5 – soft-shell layer; • level 6 – hard-shell layer; • level 7 – synthetic-down insulation layer; • level 8 – combat uniform (Pcu block 1 & Pcu block 2) CLOTHING AND UNIFORMS zapewnia izolację termiczną Para wodna Ciepło Doskonale oddycha ochronna warstwa zewnętrzna ażurowy splot hydro- fobowych włókien
