CLOTHING AND UNIFORMS level 3a Level 3A is a simple hood-less jacket fastened on the front with one-way zipper, designed to be worn as insulation layer under the soft-shell or hard-shell but it could be also used as stand-alone piece. A design, applied fabrics and a suitably chosen cut ensure small dimensions after packing the SOF PCU Level 3A. The face fabric is a lightweight rip-stop nylon with the dense weave which ensures good resistance to the wind blows and thanks to coating with the DWR repellent also a certain extend of resistance to the rain. The Level 3A has totally three pockets – two on the hips and one in the left breast. All of them are fastened with the zippers which are fitted with hand-grips from the Hypalon/Trelleborg synthetic fabric, easy to catch even with wet hands or hands in the gloves. A similar solution was applied in the main zipper. The minimalist cut causes that the jacket is rather close-fitting to the body (it can be adjusted by a draw cord in the lower part), however leaves a certain space for creating air chambers which fulfil a role of the insulation – it should be highlighted that a thermal insulation is ensured not by the material, but air which material stops inside. So, let's get to the most important thing – internals.
