during demo we had an oppor tu-
nity to learn more about this Swiss
vehicle – unfor tunately this time
we were not drivers. however, we
were given a possibility to look a
lot closer at it.
Vehicle described here is a basic
version of the 4x4 EAGLE V, ne -
ver theless GdelS offers an entire
family of these vehicles, also as
6x6, in the various versions (me -
dical, logistic suppor t, aPC, C4,
etc.), in that including as base for
specialized equipment or even a
vehicle intended for the special
forces without most of armor (on
the doors, roof, on the hull sides).
The EAGLE V is powered by 6- c y-
linder, turbocharged 6.7 liters
Cummins iSB 6.7 e3 245 diesel en-
gine with power 183 kw (250 hP)
and max. 925 nm torque. in 6x6
variant, the 6.7 liters Cummins iSB
6.7 e3 285 210 kw (285 hP) and
max. torque of 970 nm engine is
installed. in the case of the 4x4
vehicle a power-to-weight ratio is
25 hP/t.
a wheel drive is transmitted by
5-position allison 2500 SP auto-
matic gear and 2-speed transfer
case. all drive axles are equipped
with Torsen self-lock ing differen-
tials (in the case of the 6x6 ve -
hicle an additional has the same
design as a previous one).
The vehicle has wheels with
m ichelin Xzl 335/80r20 or
365/80r20 run flat Tire inser ts
tires which enable moving after
being shot.
