In recent years the company has also prepared a
few other, interesting military vehicles. In September
2012 for the first time was presented a demo ver-
sionof a 8x8 KTRI vehicle (Wheeled Engineering
Reconnaissance Vehicle) Hipopotam, with kerb we-
ight of 26 tons and allowable total weight of 32 tons.
The Hipopotam was designed from the ground up,
there were not used any chassis elements of other
companies, and instead of this there were applied
many original solutions. Then, in with a support of
the National Centre for Research and Development
when bearing in mind a LOTR program, in the years
2012–2013 was developed a demo of the Bóbr ar-
mored reconnaissance vehicle which has its premie-

A development of the Bóbr project turned out to
be a heading towards the LOTR program. On 12th
December 2013, the National Centre for Research and
Development, as a part of a 4/2013 contest for exe-
cuting projects to the benefit of the national defense
and safety, recommended an application prepared
by a consortium which consists of: AMZ-Kutno (le-
ader), Military Institute of Chemistry and Radiometry,
Military Communication Institute and Military
Institute of Armament Technology which subject
was a development of the LOTR. On 23rd December
2013 was signed an appropriate contract pursuant to
which a prototype should be ready until December
