The contractors who perform tasks of protect- ing people in high risk regions are trained in the field of countering improvised explosive devic- es, C-IED - says marcin who has been working for international Pmc companies for 7 years - during convoys carried out e.g. in iraq, one must have eyes in the back of their head and find dan- gerous areas in advance. i cannot imagine work- ing with a person who does not know the basics of the tactical use of IEDs. such person is useless and could become a se- rious danger to the rest of the team, the alba- tross around the neck. The program of such training includes identifi- cation of improvised explosive devices, convoy planning, procedures of identifying critical areas with the threat of IED attacks, medical evacua- tion, as well as securing the area after detection or explosion of such device. during the practi- cal classes, due to the wide range of tasks, we use the comprehensive knowledge of soldiers / contractors within the scope of tactics, handling weapons and first aid. This follows the assump- tion that only appropriately and well-trained staff members should operate in high risk regions. This also applies to civilians who perform tasks not related to protection (eg. journalists, techni- cians, etc.). such persons are trained, i.a., in the proper reactions during and after an attack with the use of improvised explosive devices, as well as the basics of dangerous object recognition. - Persons responsible for protecting buildings and facilities must also have knowledge in the field of eor - pyrotechnic recognition. Their main task is to check the protected area, as well as entering persons and cars. They need to know the methods of hiding dangerous objects, iden- tification of suspects, the ways of conducting inspections and handling specialized equipment used in such tasks - explains grzegorz. www.fragoutmag.com
