The above mentioned family of pistols includes: CZ 75B, CZ 75BD, CZ 85B Combat, CZ 75 Champion, CZ 75 Standard IPSC and CZ 75 Modified, as well as, on the basis of full-size construction, compact models: CZ 75 Compact and .22LR CZ 75 Kadet. How did it all start? At the end the 20th century, Czech special forces were interested in changing their secondary weapons by a pistol with 9x19 NATO ammunition which would replace vz. 82 with 9 mm x 18 Makarov. This demand was formulated in proper time for Česka Zbrojovka, during its restoration after issues related to restruc- turing. This is how CZ 75 SP-01 was born – a large, heavy (more than 1 kilogram), with 18 rounds of 9x19 Para in magazine – an unusual pistol for unusual peo- ple. It immediately drew the attention of Czech sport shooting team who also are not „regular" shooters". The expansion on the international stages of IPSC started.
