After many successes of the CZ company team: Angus Hobdell (today's boss of Custom Shop CZ- USA), Adam Tyc and Milan Trkulja and thanks to their support, the modified model CZ 75 SP-01 was intro- duced in the offer in 2005. At first glance, the models did not differ from each other, but it was the matter of details, which is usual in such cases. The differences were even more significant, since they were noticed not by accountants or theoreticians, but by world- class shooters. Every, even smallest, change was subject to one aspect – reduction of splits of seconds needed in the world championship shooting. The real revolution was the removal of the internal firing pin block that protected the weapon against an accidental shot due to e.g. hitting hard surface. The block was implemented in pistols in the 1990s and efficiently prevented from accidental firing, but for the price of pull weight of trigger. Everyone who tried sport shooting at least once knows the significance of this aspect. Thanks to such modifications, a fan- tastic performance of the trigger was achieved – not found among competitive pistols of the similar price level, or sometimes even among the more expensive ones. What is more, users got the possibility to im- prove the trigger by replacing the hammer spring with a weaker one, included in the manufacturer's set. The loop hole in the lower part of the grip was also re- moved. It was used for connecting leading a lanyard to connect the owner with the weapon to make it also more difficult to be taken away or lost, he trend of using such lanyards becomes less popular, because they rather cause problems than give support. The modern holsters have protection systems that make it very difficult for someone to lose their gun. The spring in the inner part of the grip, to prevent the magazine from falling out after releasing the trigger, was also removed. This significantly sped up the mag change process during the run on the track. Similarly to CZ 75 Tactical Sport, a Dualtone version was re- leased with a black rubber grip, silver frame pained with stove enforced varnish and a black slide (pic- tures). The sights have also been modified. A new fib- er optic front sight appeared on the slide and a rear sight extended to the back, which increasing the line. After the successes in the IPSC Factory Division, the pistol became a legendary tool that could win interna- tional competitions just by taking it out of the box. Of course, if the weakest point of the system, the shoot- er, will not interrupt. Due to the relatively low price, Shadow is still very popular. The market also offers a whole bunch of accessories to modify this weapon, starting from holsters, tritium or adjustable sights, re- placeable grips, to triggers and hammers... FIREARMS
