the shooter has many pounds of gear on the back
and has to carry the rifle during extended period
of time. The weight and kind of "primitive" feel of
Beryl are things which I will remember the most.
The trigger works well (smooth, but with some
slight resistance) and has a nice reset. I could even
say it is similar to the some of the US made AR-
15 triggers. The safety switch works smooth and
it can be operated with index finger. The smooth
way of safety is thing of great importance to me
and this part of Beryl rifles passed my testing pro-
cedure. Unfortunately, I cannot say same posi-
tive things about the fire selector switch on the
left side of rifle several times catch my stuff and
switched to burst or full auto modes without my
knowledge. There should be some more force re-
quired to switch the modes – you don't want to
hear bang-bang-bang when you wish to fire just
one shot.
M762 is very stable, even in full auto mode and has
little recoil and muzzle jump. I was expecting more
powerful recoil so I was positively surprised. The
stock is archaic and has way too low and narrow
profile so the cheek cannot be comfortably placed
on the side – I think that was mostly lacking thing
for me. The adjustable cheek piece on stock would
improve the stability and help in achieving proper
weapon position.
