From the Walery's point of view The CQB classes are a very popular theme, almost each training company conducts such classes. Furthermore, in their descriptions we can find the phrases like "the Israeli CQB combat systems or "Israeli terror/anti-terror/über terror and super terror school/institute" and other baloney of this kind as if the Israeli have exclusive rights to CQB. Considering this, my attitude towards such trainings is full of precaution and skepticism. I know a CQB rules at the basic level, because I took part in many trainings conducted by the various instructors from Poland and abroad, I read a few books, trained with different persons… I do not assume myself as a super-tactical-ninja, but I can notice when somebody wangles. I heard about the Project Gecko some time ago – I had a look at their website and Facebook, but nothing drew my special attention. I had strongly neutral feelings when I received information, by the grapevine, that guys from the Stronghold Group invited Eli. A thought crossed my mind that if the guy is here so maybe I will go to see what he demonstrates. What should be done first in such a situation? Verify. So, I did so. That is I searched the Internet and asked here and there to get to know if he does not wangle, and if I do not waste my time and cash (at least three days and some ammunition – perhaps it could be used in the other manner). The result of the provided verification was positive. It is not written anywhere that the guy pulls the wool over eyes and represent himself as a ninja, and this is already a good sign. One thing which scared me was an excess of the airsoft during his trainings, because – with the full respect to this, anyway, perfect training equipment – nevertheless, you should use it as an addition, not a basis… Finally, it turned out that I can participate in the training as a FRAG OUT! rep and relate its course from the point of user's view. It was deemed as, certainly, more interesting for the readers, than a plain relation from the spectator's perspective. www.fragoutmag.com
