REPORT In June 2016, the GROM specIal MIssIOn unIt cel- ebRated Its 26th annIveRsaRy Of an OpeRatIOn. On this OccasiOn, there was held grand anniversary celebratiOn. the celebratiOn was hOnOured by a presence, amOng Others, the silent un- seen, capt. aleksander tarnawski "upłaz", under-secretary Of state in the ministry Of natiOnal defense republic Of pOland, families Of the grOm OperatOrs whO had been killed in actiOn and during a training, partners frOm the fOreign smu's and friends Of this military unit. during an Official part decOratiOns were awarded tO the OperatOrs and the grOm hOnOrary badges were presented bOth tO the sOldiers, and persOns frOm Outside military whO had suppOrted the unit . at the end Of the Official part Of the celebratiOns, the act Of fOundatiOn un- der the grOm sOldiers memOrial was embedded. the celebration – as every year – was graced by a show of the częstochowa pipes & drums, per- forming traditional scottish music, which was accompanied by a phenomenal show of the air acrobatics in the master performance of pilot artur kielak. then it began a traditional picnic in the grOm facilities. all participants of this feast had also an opportunity to enjoy a performance of the fantastic girls from the funky chics team. finally, a splendor to the celebrations was added by a star of that evening – the Oberschlesien band. during the concert, the musicians performed as a preview a piece entitled "the silent unseen". the entire concert, and in particular this very musical piece made a lasting impression. at the stage appeared also the former and present grOm operators who every year take part in the memory race and ride on their motorcycles thousands of kilometers in order to honor the memory of the colleagues who passed away. it was a great surprise when during the event appeared prominent sportsmen – marcin gortat and robert korzeniowski – friends of the unit who despite their tight schedules found time to meet us, even for a while. an artistic part was led by unparalleled szymon kusarek as a master of ceremonies, whose tal- ents manifested over time, at the end of the event reaching a level of the stage singing so effec- tive that it snatched to dance many of the participants. due to the notable guests, perfect organization and outstanding weather this GROM day will remain in our memory for a long time!
