knife as suggested in the manual (a ball chain was included in kit), however from my POV it is extremely inconvenient. The horizontal straps or even suspenders are far better carrying solution. A multi-functional sheath does not protrude and together with the knife created a whole, which is so flat that there is really a lot of possibilities to carry the knife in a convenient manner. In case of both sheaths, the knife is pressed tightly and there is no Velcro, straps or press- studs, which complicate an access. Today, in the era of Kydex, it is just a standard, but in the 1990s it was not a so popular solution. It is not hard to notice that the strapping system has perfectly corresponded with the Kni-Com assumptions and has satisfied the need of taking out the knife quickly. SUMMARY Companion to przybysz z przeszłości, echo czasów, w których The CRKT Companion is a creature from the past, echo of the times, iwhen a perception of the knife in the weapon category has not been yet a taboo in the circles of the blades enthusiasts. Admittedly, the pieces manufactured by the CRKT are only a poor substitute for those created as a result of a cooperation between Kasper and Polkowski, however sufficient in order to appreciate a huge potential of this design. Certainly, nothing prevents from using this knife as the fixed EDC knife: it is flat, relatively light, convenient and sized similar to large folded knives. You can prepare your breakfast with it, cut out the shrink wrapped bottlesr, cut cords and sharpen pencils. In contrast to the modern knives, aspiring to be fighter knives on the basis of the predatory appearance or merits on the virtual battlefield, the Kasper/ Polkowski is, in my humble oppinion, the knife, which actually deserves such a name. It is easy to hide and carry, and offers a huge control and it is adopted to a specific martial school – in its narrow specialization is one of the mostly well thought out designs, with which I have dealt so far.
