stones getting inside the boot. The design of the holes al- lows avoiding problems of falling out meshes, a frequent issue in the case of the legacy Jungle Boots. The holes are located slightly above the line of the sole to allow wa- ter exit the boot. The toe features a protective rubber cap that secures it against damage. There is also similar reinforcement on the heel. Due to the fact that the top of the upper is quite soft to provide better stability for the foot, it was rein- forced with nubuck leather that stiffens the structure of the boot in the ankle area, preventing it from accidental damage. The top-back part of the boot has a nylon loop for more convenient putting on. It is sewn on a vertical webbing band, protecting the material from abrasion near the tendon. The lacing system of Jungle Ultra consists of three pairs of alloy grommets and placed in the top part of the upper, and three pairs of loops – two made from nubuck leather and located in the bottom of the upper (a sort of exten- sion of the Advanced Chassis frame, please see below) and one (bottom) consisting of a nylon strap. There is also an additional nylon loop in the sewn-in of the tongue. The pattern of the leather element of the upper is not acci- dental – it forms a frame that is to provide better grip for the foot in a tied boot. The tongue was softly padded and sewn in on the entire length. That is why the boot will not pinch the foot, even if put on improperly. No discomfort, while the boot prevents sand from getting in. The round shoelaces are thick and chunky. Sole Another element that was modeled after Jungle Boots is the Contagrip sole with thread similar to classic Panamas thread but with many additional notches that increase the grip on muddy terrain.
