Some time ago we have received two versions of the Baton flashlights – the Olight S10R Baton III and the Olight S30R Baton III. The "III" means the another generation of the products, and the letter R stands for rechargeable - these are adapted to use the batteries, rechargeable batteries and of- fer a possibility of their direct charging. The flashlights are very similar to each other in terms of their design so we will describe them jointly. DESIGN Basic material for both of the flashlight design is black, Type III hard anodized 6061-T6 aircraft grade aluminum – it is probably the most popu- lar material used in any and all tactical and out- door lights. The body, head and tail cap of the battery compartment of both Batons are made from 6061-T6. Each flashlight body has cuts in Olight typical manner, the small cubes, which en- sure good grip, are comfortable in the touch and non-aggressive for fabrics, e.g. the pocket lining, where light is carried. The tail cap features a tex- tured ring, which facilitates its opening. The bodies differ in their length, what results from the power source: Olight S10R Baton III – rechargeable 650 mAh RCR123A 3.7V lithium battery (included in the kit) or single CR123A 3V battery. Olight S30R Baton III – rechargeable 3500 mAh 18650 3.6V accumulator battery (included in the kit) or two CR123A 3V batteries. Due to the higher output, the Olight S30R Baton III features bigger head with grooves that improve its thermal capacity. The heads of both flashlights have blue steel screwed-in bezels . A ring around the switch on the flashlight body features a similar finish. Switch is rubberized and was placed in a way to avoid accidental activation. It protrudes above the body and works with a little resistance. The tail caps are flat therefore the flashlight can be used www.fragoutmag.com
