WOT WOT Press Officer Lt. Col. Marek Pietrzek about Grot Test were conducted in July and August 2017 by one of WOT units. Their essential aim was to check how much in- troduction of new rifle into WOT will improve training pro- cess. Weapon was tested by professional soldiers of bri- gade and ex-SOF within TDF mobile training team. Results of those tests are more than satisfying. Remarks that come from soldiers most of the times comes from pre- viously operating on AK platform as noticing lack of fixed iron sights. During test of 40 rifles, 30,000 rounds were used. Results of shooting from Grot by instructor's cadre and soldiers come up 20% better that one conducted with 5.56 Beryl Mod.96 assault rifles and the weapon handling training pro- cess was much quicker. It is especially noticeable in case of young soldiers that previously did not use AK platform. From the April 2017, WOT HQ is responsible of small arms weapon systems. In thought of decision 92/MON in the field of obtainment new equipment in the request that we directed to minister of defense in case of acquiring MSBS we indicate Military Unit NIL as executor of the task. NIL have big experience in purchases, and except that WOT do not have own logistics' unit. NIL execute purchases mainly for SOF, but not exclusively – there were cases in the past, where NIL execute purchase for some unit outside the SOF, so there is nothing special about that one.
