ADA SAYS In the early spring 2017, when I have de- cided to see where my bike is, I have bought tasmanian tiger tac Modular pack 30 Vent. I was looking for a pack solution which will help me in my way to work and will take off the weight from my shoulders and back. My standard "work fight- ing load" is following: laptop plus chargers, brunch and lunch, water, wallet, keys and rest of "woman's stuff". Complete weight is around 5-6 kilograms. From my point of view, the main advantages of TT tac Modular pack 30 Vent are the excellent suspen- sion system and weight of the pack itself. the waist belt and stiffened pack perfectly take away weight from the shoulders and stabilize the pack on the body. Adjustments of the suspenders and waist belt plus cinches on the side of the main compartment allow to lock the pack and its content in place, what is really important on the bike, since I mostly com- mute with it. Another pro for the pack is its capacity (for urban use), but this has also a dark side: too many "necessary" EDC little thingies, because there is still a space for them… the pack has a number of small pocket to orga- nize the interior. only flaw I have found is the invert- ed top pocket in the flap. I keep there my wallet or keys, so if you want to reach them conveniently, you will need to open a pack almost to the half. tasmanian tiger tac Modular pack 30 Vent fea- tures also the side pockets, but I've found them to shallow. they can be used to carry bottles of wa- ter, but I am always worried that I will lose the con- tent of the pocket on first road bump on my way. Fortunately, the pack is hydration bladder compati- ble and has slits for routing the hydration tube – no problem with dehydration. Because I've been using the pack only for a limited period, it is hard to say anything about the durability, but after three months of every day use nothing had happened to it. RABBIT'S POV My tt tac Modular pack 30 Vent is the "green" variant, but it's not a sol- id color, some parts are green, some are brown-ish. since few months I am using this pack as my EDC one, I take it to crossfit, shooting range, short trips, budget airlines trips… I must admit that it is really lightweight and comfortable. the X-crossed suspen- sion system does it job, but in the hot summer months my back is still wet (but it seems to be better than in Arc'teryx LEAF Khard or Mystery ranch 3DAp) – any- ways, it is comfortable, stable and takes the weight of the shoulders. the shoulder pads are comfortable and adjustable for even big guys (waist belt too, even more adjustable, I hate when my carefully rolled excess of the webbing will unroll…), but they could be a bit stiffer. There is some kind of transparent nylon insert in around 2/3 of their length, where foam padding with venting holes can be seen. Does this improve the ventilation? Honestly, no idea. Waist belt is also adjustable and offers good trans- fer of load to hips. I think the reasonable is maximum is 8-10 kilograms of load because shoulder straps are flexible and does not feature the stabilizer straps which could be used to adjust the distance from the shoulders straps to backpack. When maximum load is carried, with waist belt and sternum strap tightened and shoulder straps loosed, the pack start to swing a bit. www.fragoutmag.com
