Next is the hand guard. The GROT S16 features Magpul M-LOK lightweight aircraft aluminum hand guard with four slots on 3, 5, 6, 7 and 9 o'clock po- sitions and three slots of 2 and 11 o'clock positions. Military MSBS/GROT has less mounting slots, and they are "M-LOK-ish". Hand guard ends before the gas regulator. Rifles comes with factory mounted MIL-STD-1913 rails segments on 3, 6 and 9 o'clock. There is also a full-length monolithic MIL-STD-1913 on the upper receiver. Another, smaller change, is the QD mount placement – it was moved from the 5 and 7 o'clock position to the 3 and 9 o'clock. GROT S16 has mil-spec 16" fluted, cold-hammer forged, quick detachable barrel with 1/2-28-UNEF-2A thread on the business end, so the muzzle device can be replaced if necessary. In C16 FB-M1 military version, the muz- zle device is permanently pinned and might be only re- moved or replaced by skilled armorer. Rifle is chambered in both 5.56 x 45 and .223 Remington for more flexibility. Barrel twist was changed from 1:7 RH to 1:9 RH. Change of the muzzle device and its attachment forced removal of bayonet attachment lug. We understand that in some countries fixing bayonet to the civilian rifle is illegal, but there are still some countries where you can have bay- onet affixed. And Poland is one of that countries, so the bayonet lug could remain, especially that currently there were no export plans. Probably, there will be a commer- cial version of the bayonet itself, slightly changed by re- moval of the serrated part from the blade. FIREARMS
