Charging handle can be easily
moved to the other side of APC556/
APC223 without any tools. To
change the side, simply pull the bolt
carrier to the rear and slide the han-
dle. Case ejection port is fixed and
cannot be changed to the other side,
but left-handed shooters should not
have any problem because cases are
ejected almost perpendicular to the
weapon axis.
APC556/APC223 comes with fold-
ed back-up iron attached to the top
Picatinny rail integrated with upper
receiver. B&T APC assault rifles have
two more rails at the sides of hand-
guard and one on the bottom.
B&T APC556 and APC223 can be
equipped with 264- or 308-mm bar-
rel with suppressor compatible muz-
zle device. There is also a carbine
version designed as APC556PDW
with 222 mm barrel with extended
muzzle device and buttstock that
back plate almost composes with
rear of lower receiver. PDW has also
distinctive step cut in upper part of
the rail that allows to use the adjust-
able gas block. Rifles for military and
law enforcement can be equipped
with effective B&T Rotex-IIA sup-
pressors.
