The LMG MSBS could be a squad level infantry support weapon when used with high capacity maga- zines (like 60 rounders or more). Ä 20-inch (508 mm) des- ignated marksman rifle. The decision about the final length the barrel wasn't made yet. The precision barrel is thicker than in standard assault rifle, but thinner than the LMG one. It features different muzzle de- vice with more effective flash and recoil reduction. The de- vice is suppressor compatible. For DMR variant, a new match- grade two-stage trigger will be developed but the rifle will be compatible with COTS drop-in triggers. During the MSPO 2018 the following new variants of the MSBS family were unveiled: Ä 10-inch (256 mm) bar- rel carbine with redesigned flash hider/muzzle device. We were informed that other bar- rel lengths are also planned. The carbine has shortest hand- guard and lacks the bayonet at- tachment point (which is quite obvious in gun of this size). The carbine (especially in the bull- pup configuration) could be a primary weapon for crews, sup- port units or even a survival gun for air crews) usually armed with SMGs. That construction supposed to provide better ergonomics and weight distribution. It was perceptible especially carrying weapon in the so-called patrol position when gun was pointed toward the ground. In that posi- tion, advantages of uncommon shape that grenade launcher were exposed – hand support- ing the front part of the weapon was laid out in the comfort po- sition, and the wrist was no lon- ger bent like in classic designs.
