The ALC seems to be an interesting concept where MOLLE
II Fighting Load Carrier was mixed into modern chest rig.
Unfortunately, the design is not fortunate one. Same
goes for fabrics. The load bearing belt is really weird and
you can feel that Wild West flow. The pockets are really
stiff, laminated fabric was chosen to increase durability
and lifespan. The ALC program was eventually canceled
as the solution wasn't better than FLC, but some lessons
were learned and USMC specific MOLLE pouches suite
was introduced in mid 2000s.
