In 2003, United States Marine Corps launched ILBE (Improved Load Bearing
Equipment) program as MOLLE I and MOLLE II introduced few years later were just
not good enough for the Marines. Two offers were submitted, Bianchi with Gregory
and Propper together with famous Canadian Arc'teryx. After the extensive testing,
the winning bid was announced to the latter. On 15th January 2004 the upgraded
version of Arc'teryx Bora 95 hiking pack (with smaller patrol pack and hydration
system) was officially adopted as ILBE system.
