The overall review of Olight PL- Mini Valkyrie WML was very positive. It was dedicated, compact pistol weapon light, with enough power output for every day use or self-defense. New version is slightly different. It offers bit more than the previous one and definitely eliminates its flaws. DESIGN Olight PL-Mini 2 Valkyrie has 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum Type III anodized housing in black. The only silver part is bezel. It is 1 meter drop resistant and IPX6 rated. Due some differences in design and mounting, it has slightly different dimensions. It is 52 x 32 x 32 mm (lens is 15 mm radius) and 73 grams. The legacy version was 61 x 27 x 21 and 62 grams. Housing is now shorter but higher. The main reason for this is the mount. Flashlight might be attached to MIL-STD-1913 or Glock rail (it requires to replace the key locked with two small screws). Snap on rail grip and lock the swing arm. The housing of PL-Mini 2 does not feature integrated mount, it was separated for more attachment options. The patented rail adapter part might be positioned on desired place and lock with swing arm, so the user can choose an exact placement of the light depending on the rail size. You can slide it back and forward as there are 12 possible settings (about 30 mm) where the light can be positioned. Olight PL-Mini 2 Valkyrie will fit almost any type of pistol (with proper rail) and adjustable distance will allow for comfortable use. The mount seems to be rock solid. The only flaw is the increased overall height. www.fragoutmag.com
