But still, the Olight PL-Mini 2 is
really compact and it matches
compact pistols perfectly.
Ergonomics are great, even
better than in the previous
version. The 600 lumens beam
is significantly stronger than
400 lumens of the PL-Mini. The
declared throw is 100 meters,
but in reality, the effective range
is shorter. Sure, the throw will
allow to illuminate the potential
threat. For short range, pistol
defensive range, 600 lumens
are more than enough even on
50-60 meters distance. It will
effectively blind the aggressor
on the very short distance, but
surely you can't compare it with
"real" weaponlights.
The design of the housing with
separated rail adapter has
one benefit. The weaponlight
might be positioned before the
business end of the pistol, so the
carbon buildup on the lens will be
slower. This is important in case
of small lens of PL-Mini 2 (just
15 mm), where even slight dirt
will decrease its effectiveness.
Holsters. Olight PL-Mini 2
Valkyrie does not fit same
holsters as the PL-Mini. You will
need custom OWB/IWB/AIWB
holster for this weaponlight
if used with CCW. "Big" duty
holsters for pistols with
weaponlights attached should
