The international character of MAKS was also visible in the form of
the visitors, including Erdogan, the President of Turkey. Following the
diplomatic fiasco related to the F-35 acquisition, Erdogan turned towards
Moscow to check the potential cooperation opportunities related to the
Su-35 and Su-57. Walking around the MAKS exhibition grounds with
Putin, Erdogan's presence at MAKS made it to the headlines. However,
MAKS extends beyond the field of politics. It is all about aircraft, including
the ones performing their displays in the air.
And here, the most interesting exhibits included the 5th generation
aircraft - the Su-57, alongside the Flanker-family combat jets, coming
in all shapes and forms: Su-30SM, Su-35 or Su-34. Su-57 also made
its first appearance at the static display this year. MiG-35 was another
highlight of the dynamic displays program. According to the official
press communications, Indian pilots were supposedly taking a joyride
opportunity on the MiG-35, during the MAKS. The Indian delegates were
also quite interested in the Su-57.
