RABBIT A ustrian Made Atom LT? This was my initial thought when I unboxed the Carinthia TLG. Similar design, similar idea, similar build. Well, I have an Atom hoodie and it is one of my favorite jackets. Now, TLG as well. Carinthia TLG works perfectly all year round so I don't even bother to stash it in my wardrobe. Anytime there might be that perfect moment for it. It gives you some warmth in summer, it will serve as mid-layer or as a stand-alone jacket. I've been wearing it under softshells and harshells. As a mid-layer under Carinthia ISG or Ultra Jacket. Well, winters here are… Honestly, there is no win- ter here in central Poland so I don't use it with other loft jackets. But TLG can be worn in conjunction with MIG/ HIG, ECWCS Level 7 or similar. I even wore it tucked in- side the Drac pants. TLG is thinner than Atom LT, but it provides (at least to me) similar thermal comfort. This is mostly because of the G-Loft loft construction. If you are wearing TLG as mid-layer, you may even tuck the hood under the outer layer and it won't be a problem since it's almost flat. The cut is great. It has a form fitting design and will not restrict your moves. The elastic parts on the core improves the flexibility in dynamic use. These also dou- ble as ventilation (together with mesh armpits). Works greater if the outer layer has side zips. The sleeves in TLG are the best I have seen. The cuffs are not too tight, so they won't restrict access to watch and they are still proving a good seal. There are three pockets, two waist zippered pockets and a chest pocket on the left. I keep the phone inside to keep it warm. The bottom adjustment sucks. It cinches down only the rear part of the jacket. Outer nylon fabric is smooth and slick, so there is no fric- tion if you are pulling your hand in the sleeve of another jacket. The fabric is coated for some rain resistance. TLG does not come with compression sack but it might be folded and compressed well without it. I stash it in the top flap pocket of my Mystery Ranch 2-DAP pack. It should even fit a cargo pocket in the pants. Thumbs up! I would definitely recommend it. www.fragoutmag.com
