The development of Polish Raks self-propelled mortar may be divided into two periods. The first
one was the term of search for new support weapons. This period has seen primarily own research
conducted by HSW. That research then saw active involvement on the part of the military. Finally,
HSW also concluded an agreement with the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (MSHE)
back in 2005, to obtain extra funds for boosting the work. The second period began in 2009, when
an agreement was signed to create a prototype Company-level Fire Module (KMO). This period
lasts until today. The important milestone here came in a form of an agreement signed on 28th
April 2016, concerning delivery of 8 "modules".
