VENEY -CARRON During the MILIPOL 2019 French Armed Forces were still in the process of selecting new firearms. One of the programs was the FPSA (Fusil de Precision Semi-au- tomatique), purchase of 2600 .308 semi-automatic precision rifle systems as the replacement for FR F2 sniper rifles. One of the proposals for FPSA was AR-10 based Ver- ney-Carron VCD10 rifle. The Verney-Carron founded in 1820 is one of the oldest weapons manufacturing com- pany in France. It is most famous for FlashBall non-le- thal rubber ball launcher available in single and dual barrel configurations. There is also civilian variant with tennis balls as a projectile too. The FPSA winner was announced in December 2019, French selected the FN Herstal SCAR-H PR rifles with optics and accessories. B&T B&T from Switzerland stepped up development of APC PRO submachine guns family. Recently, a 9 mm variant of APC PRO was selected by US Army as Sub Compact Weapon (SCW) for use in VIP security details. APC PRO are currently available with couple different barrel lengths and might be fed from Glock or B&T proprietary magazines. B&T Universal Service Weapon (USW) chassis and systems are gaining more and more interest on global markets. First in the series was USW-A1 and it's Compact variant based on Sphinx pistol designs and chassis with foldable stocks and integrated sights mounts. Currently, there are conver- sion kits for Glock 17/19, 20/21/40, Walther PPQ and even SIG Sauer P320 (as a new frame where legacy trigger mod- ule and slide are installed). www.fragoutmag.com
