APC9 PRO The main focus of the demo was 9mm Parabellum APC9 PRO submachine gun family unveiled in 2019 which is the deep- ly-upgrade variant of legacy APC9 (now known as APC9 Classic). This select-fire (safe/single/full auto) machine gun is close bolt blowback operated and is also available in semi-automatic version for civilian market. APC9 PRO has extrude aircraft-grade aluminum upper receiver and polymer lower receiver. The basic controls and ergonomics follow the proven and popu- lar AR-15 design for easier handling. Ma- chine gun features a hydraulic recoil buf- fer located in the rear of receiver. This buffer stretches out the recoil forces over a longer period so that the impulse feels much lighter even when shooting fully automatic and it also increases the force required to charge the gun before shooting as the recoil spring is lighter. On the top of the upper receiver there is a full-length Picatinny rail for optoelec- tronics. The APC9 PRO comes with rail mounted back-up sights attached. There are three additional MIL-STD-1913 rails on the handguard. The biggest change in the APC9 PRO is the non-reciprocating charging handle (APC9 Classic had reciprocating one) which might be moved to the either side of the gun without any additional tools. The ejection port is one side only, but the trajectory of the ejected casings is highly controllable – they all are ejected to the front of the gun, so there are no prob- lems with cases smacking shooters face. The bolt catch and bolt catch release le- ver are now a single button, earlier bolt catch was located between the magazine well and trigger guard. The pistol grip is modular and might be replaced with any- thing which is AR-compatible. The basic variant of APC9 PRO has 175 mm (6.9") long barrel with 3-lug sup- pressor compatible muzzle device and comes with polymer stock folded to the right. The overall length of APC9 PRO is 597 mm with stock extended and 378 mm when folded. The gun is fed from translucent polymer stick magazines in 15, 20, 25 or 30 rounds versions. In early December 2019, the Swiss B&T and its Polish Military and Law Enforcement distributor, the Griffin Group Defence, organized a two-day demonstration for military and law enforcement. We have already covered some of the B&T products in the past, such as APC9 submachine gun, APC223 rifles and GL06 launchers. But this time we are able to play a bit with some of B&T latest products Tekst: Bartosz Szołucha Foto: Bartosz Szołucha, Michał Sitarski REPORT
