In April 2019, the APC-9K PRO based gun (the technical details were not dis- closed yet) was selected by the US Army as a new Sub Compact Weapon (SCW), the 9mm compact submachine gun for the VIP and security protection details. The first batch is 350 units, but the com- plete order will be around 1000 SCW's. Except above mentioned variants, the APC9 PRO is available in training (paint- ed red and only dry-fire capable), force- on-force (blue one, FX marking rounds). There is also a FX conversion kit (drop-in upper receiver). The APC45 PRO is .45 APC chambered variant. During the demo, B&T representative un- veiled the reliability data from SCW test- ing protocol. The ultra-short barreled APC9-K PRO, so potentially most vul- nerable to stoppages, was tested with XM1153 9mm Special Purpose Round (developed by Winchester for M17/M18 MHS pistols). Three guns were tested, 18,000 rounds were fired from them and there were TWO stoppages. After the brief technical into to the guns, there was a 25 m shooting range test where we could spend some time with APCs. These are accurate, portable and well-designed guns. The AR users will have absolutely no problems with tran- sition to the B&T APCs. Ergonomics, hy- draulic buffers paired with pistol rounds makes shooting them a walk in the park. APCs are highly controllable even when shooting fully automatic. GL06 Another weapon system on display where single-shot 40 mm GL06 non-le- thal launcher developed for riot control. This breech-loaded launcher is very sim- ple in use is fed with dedicated SIR im- pact ammunition system developed by B&T. For more details about GL06 please check the full story in FRAG OUT!
