The decision to use wheeled platforms in case of four large elements, with an inventory of 88 vehicles per battalion means that a complete bri- gade-level inventory would involve around 320 vehi- cles. The above means that at least 1,280 vehicles would be needed. However, considering the possi- ble new variants and the wear and tear in case of some platforms, more than 1,300 vehicles are re- quired (not including the wartime inventory 10-40% of the total quantity). This also means that extra 130-500 vehicles would be needed. It is difficult to suspect that the Polish Ministry of Defence would be creating inventory reserves (the authorities pre- tend that the issue is non-existent). Nonetheless, 1,300 vehicles are the minimum requirement. So far, 570 + 298 examples have been ordered. 868 ve- hicles in total. However, some were irreversibly lost in Afghanistan. The real quantity is 840-850 then. Putting it briefly, at least 450 more platforms are needed to achieve the expected quantitative status. www.fragoutmag.com
