AM V-XP – T echn i cal Fe atur es AMV-XP is a mix of successful XC/XA-360-derived solutions and some entirely new developments. The modular design has been maintained, in the form of a monocoque hull. Underneath one may find a sus- pension support element developed by the Finnish Sisu company - the infamous steel frame (that was one of the reasons the competition was trying to in- validate the procurement), that supports the sus- pension, makes the structure more rigid and trans- fers most of the load. This improves the IED/mine protection levels and makes maintenance much easier. The hull itself is conventional in its design, with the driver's seat located in the front, on the left. The driver has a separate hatch at his disposal. On the right side of the driver, one may find the pow- erpack, while behind - the troop/transport com- partment that is connected with the driver com- partment with a little corridor. The rear portion of the hull has been equipped with a ramp for the troops, and two hatches have been embedded with- in the roof. The new vehicle weighs 32 tonnes, but it can also carry a payload of 15 tonnes. The amphibi- ous capacity has been retained in the lighter variant VEHICLES
