Cups could be also rotated to the back and stowed on the rear of the helmet when not in use. To engage the cups the only thing required is to press a single button on the bottom of each of the arms. Cups are mounted on 360 degree single gimbals so they can freely rotate and follow the head. Low-profile, almost flat shaped RAC cups are very simi- lar to each otehr. The only difference is the location of all control buttons on the left cup. Volume up and down buttons are tactile and rubber covered. The shell of the cup is molded from impact-resistant polymer and the inner side there is PU foam in soft lining (directly to- uching the skin), the checkered plastic protective insert and foam which protects the electronics inside. On each of the cups there are AAA battery compartments inside – during the battery replacement please make sure that O-rings are properly placed as it protects the electronics circuits inside. The RAC headset is waterproof and du- stproof according to the MIL-STD-810G. It is also IP67 (completely) and IP68 (3 meters submersion for 30 se- conds) rated. In the front of the cup there are slots which protect the microphones responsible for receiving ambient sounds and suppressing or cancelling the noise above the safe level for increased situational awareness.
