proportions, looks far more aggres- sive than the M17 and with the 21-rounder attached it just blows your mind off. Since I am not into static shooting (I am more like a 3-gun/Multigun guy) and in tac- tical/defense shooting matches, I don't really need the longer barrel. The gun is perfectly made. Out of the box it works great, and it is ready to roll. No need to change any- thing or adjust. Inside the case you are going to find the gun itself, three magazines, Velcro patch and key- pad. Nothing else, just essentials. The factory trigger is just fine. Short travel, crisp wall and break, quick reset. I like shooting quickly, so it was (almost) perfect for me. The grip is comfortable for use (the serrations could be more aggres- sive) and improves stability when shooting. Iron sights are great – large, crisp and with high-contrast points. The tritium glows in the dark- ness almost like a tiny flashlight. Controls are awesome, everything is ergonomic and in the right place. Not too small and not big. The only slight flaw is the size and the shape of the slide release lever (small and spike-shaped in the front) and is less-than-perfect to operate. But works as it should. Before SIG Sauer M18 I never had a pistol with external safe- ty switch – I was Glock 19 Gen3 and Glock 19X users, so I needed to adjust myself to a new gun but the transition was rather quick and easy. During first shooting match- es I forgot about switching the gun from hot to cold but since that time I learned new gun as I mostly shoot with M18 now. Safety switch works smoothly and I am able to switch it when still holster, when gripping the gun. Putting rounds downrange from M18 is awesome. For me, it works better than G19X – splits are quick- er and groups are tighter. It seems that Glock wasn't for me. I wrote that you don't have to change anything in M18. But you can. First thing I did was swap the M18 grip module for the P320 one. Why? Because it looks better, has a more aggressive design and is not rounded in the rear as the original one. It helps me get a better grip. The P320 grip module has higher and deeper undercut in the trigger guard area so my grip is higher for better controllability. Swap of modules is simple and absolutely toolless. Just field strip the gun and place the FCU in the new grip. Done! Next mod was the MRDS. After purchase of the gun I wanted to install Aimpoint ACRO P-1 MRDS on my M18. I bought the proper mounting plate to match the DPP footprint, borrowed a torque wrench and thought that a little DYI is what I need. Hell I was wrong. I couldn't even unscrew the plug from cut- out. What I needed was the proper FIREARMS
