protection is to be provided for the charging handle port, and a new gas regulator is also a possible en- hancement. Some proposals also were made regarding the evolution of the charging handle design, re- placement of the slide lock with an aluminum element, and introduc- tion of an adapter that would make it possible to use an AR-style butt- stock, in the next iteration of the rifle. And this has been a result of a discussion covering civilian mods made to one of the GROT rifles. DAY TWO On the second day the shooting portion of the event be- gan, with sweat and sand - the competition was available to the soldiers, and to the civilians, who could shoot the GROTrifle, and VIS 100/100M1 duty pistol. The civil- ians competed in static pistol/rifle shooting competition and dynamic pistol stage. The military represen- tatives had to compete on a range fusing these elements, they were also taking a GROT know-how test, and typical "military" competitions, including field-stripping, and timed magazine loading (1970s calling!). Watching the participants I was un- der the impression that everyone had fun, and the spirit of rivalry mo- tivated everyone to give the con- test all they got. The 50-meter lane was taken over by the FB Radom, where several GROT assault rifles, under-barrel and stand-alone grenade launch- ers, and VIS pistols were show- cased. A trained eye could have spotted some gems there, includ- ing a VIS "tactical" prototype with a silencer threaded barrel, or a mil-spec 7.62x39 mm conversion. Most of the firearms were available to shoot. The ammunition was sup- plied by the FB. These days, this is a nice gesture. The food was a nice addition, with great steaks, pea soup, grilled sau- sages, and drinks on the menu. The event was finalized at the range, where diplomas and cups were presented to the winners, by Seweryn Figurski of Fabryka Broni.
